Chaplain Ron Memorial Fund.

1943 - 2012

Chaplain Ron Bishop, Lead Chaplain and Director of the Barnabas House, pasted away suddenly from complications due to a sudden illness. Ron spent the last 13-years in the service of Atlantic City Rescue Mission heading up the Barnabas house in Wildwood NJ. The Mission's Barnabas House was to become Chaplain Ron's life's work. It was dedicated to the Apostle Barnabas whose name means "encourager".

The house, a 2nd step community home was currently undergoing expansion to a 20-room facility. The facility is dedicated to providing a second chance to the homeless who had relapsed and were ready to make a complete and lasting change. It affords residents the opportunity to continue their recovery, study and fellowship while working and saving their way to a life of independence.

In many ways, Ron embodied the ideals of this Apostle of God through his gentle but firm manner. The men who stayed here looked up to him as a father figure. Chaplain Ron you will forever be missed but your dream and the hope for this Mission lives on. If you would like to make a special one-time gift in honor of this great and dedicated man of Christ in support of the place he loved most in life - Barnabas House, please fill out this form below.
