Leaving a Legacy for the Poor

Wills

Careful and comprehensive planning can ensure your will reflects your lifestyle, values, and final instructions. Because of your devotion to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission we respectfully invite you to include us in your estate plans.

If you presently have a will, you can include us by simply adding a codicil (an amendment) without the need to rewrite your entire present document.

Through your future gift, your legacy will continue to benefit those you are presently helping.

In your will or codicil, you could simply say: "I wish to bequeath to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, PO Box 5358, Atlantic City, NJ 08401, a certain percentage or residue of my estate (the amount that remains after paying all debts, costs, and other prior legacies) to be used at the discretion of its governing board."

In addition, your bequest can be a stated dollar amount, or you can bequeath a specific property to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. Finally, you could add the Atlantic City Rescue Mission as a contingent beneficiary in case a primary beneficiary predeceases you.

Life Insurance Policies

You can name the Atlantic City Rescue Mission as a primary benficiary, or a secondary beneficiary if your primary beneficiary predeceases you.  For the beneficiary name, write in "Atlantic City Rescue Mission," and for the Social Security Number, enter "22-6076337" which is the Mission's tax ID number.

Charitable Gift Annuities

The Atlantic City Rescue Mission has a Charitable Gift Annuity Program. A Charitable Gift Annuity allows you to make a large gift to charity and receive income for the rest of your life. A portion of your gift will be tax deductible in the year that you make the gift. For more information about charitable gift annuities, please contact the Mission's Development Department.
