Donate Needed Items

Does your company or business have overstock items that the Mission could use to help the homeless? Your donation to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission is tax-deductible as allowed by law. Please call (609) 345-5517 and speak with the Operations Manager before bringing large quantities of donations as our storage space is limited.

Examples of companies that donate items:

• Supermarkets donate pies and cakes
• A bakery donates bread
• A local hotel donates gently used towels and linens
• A supermarket going out of business donated all their canned and dried goods prior to closing
• A manufacturer of drug-testing kits donates test kits that are close to expiration and not able to be sold
• A dental office donates toothbrushes and trial-sized toothpaste
• A local department store gives unsold clothing, towels, and linens

Donate Services

A donation of your time can be just as valuable as donated items or financial donations! Some examples are lawyers providing pro bono legal services for our organization, a real estate broker who provides his expertise as we have need, and a chiropractor that comes weekly to provide free service to our clients and staff. The television commercial that you can watch on the news and video page was filmed and produced at no cost to the Mission by D. Benjamen Brown Productions. Call to find out if we could use your skilled services.

Sponsor a Special Event

We hold several special events each year to raise funds for the Mission's programs for the homeless. We need corporate sponsors willing to give financial donations as well as in-kind donations for these events.

The Turkey Trot on November 29, 2008 needs corporate sponsors. Call (609) 345-5517 ext 120 now to sponsor this event.

Send Your Employees to Volunteer

We welcome volunteer groups to help us prepare and serve meals or assist with other projects as needed. One example is the Christmas in July event organized by Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. Each year Harrah's, Caesar's and Bally's resorts send their chefs and other employees to the Mission on July 25th to prepare and serve a "Christmas dinner," giving our kitchen crew a much-needed break and treating our clients to a gourmet meal. They also send Santa with toys and gifts for the children residing in our Family Life Center shelter. We are grateful for their partnership.

Get Creative!

If you can think of a creative way for your company or employees to help the Atlantic City Rescue Mission care for the homeless, please call (609)345-5517.

The Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union got creative by asking their employees and customers to donate "breakfast for the homeless." They collected hundreds of items including cereal, pancake mix, syrup, coffee, and tea. For "Make A Difference Day" in October, they also organized a bowl-a-thon to raise money for the homeless.
