Group Volunteers
The application and registration process for Group Volunteering is different than that for individuals.
Fill out and submit the Group Volunteer Application. Use this application if you want to have a Mission representative come speak to your group, you want to do an off-site project, or you want to volunteer on-site at the Mission.
For your group to qualify to register under our "group volunteering" policy, the group must be one of the following:
- Employee Groups
- Scout Groups - Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, AWANA, or other Christian scouting
- School Field Trips - school-sanctioned field trips for the purpose of volunteering
- Church Groups & Teams - groups which officially represent churches and whose activities will be listed on the church calendar or registered in the church office
- Civic Groups - Rotary, VFW, Fraternity/Sorority, Condo Association, etc.
If your group meets the above criteria, please fill out the Group Volunteer Application. Your group's contact person will hear from the Volunteer Coordinator in approximately one week.
Groups consisting of family or friends should sign up as individual volunteers and must complete the application and placement process as individual volunteers.
Age Limits & Chaperones for On-Site Volunteering
- Age Limits - Youth must be age 14 or older, or in a school group of 9th graders, to be eligible to volunteer with a group at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission
- Group Chaperones - 1:8 One adult (over age 18) for every eight teens (age 14-17).
Groups With Younger Children
Groups with children under age 14 may not volunteer on-site at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. We can suggest some creative ways that you can involve your group off-site such as organizing a collection drive. You can also have a representative from the Mission visit your group of younger children to talk about homelessness and how the Mission helps. Please fill out the Group Volunteer Application online, and check off the appropriate option for Question 1.
Families With Young Children (under age 14)
We do not allow children under age 14 to volunteer on-site. Check out Creative Ways to volunteer, or look through our information for parents.
